It’s so reassuring to me to be reminded that God notices when I’m seeking him, hears me when I’m calling to him and meets me in that place. Part of Psalm 37 reads, “The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.” (Psalm 37:23-24 NIV) My choice to honour and seek God, to find my joy in him results in each of my steps being protected. It doesn’t mean nothing ever goes wrong, but rather I am always under God’s protection. In fact, even my stumbling steps can bring glory to God when those steps come from a heart that seeks God more than the destination. This scripture helps me be brave, it helps me say yes.

In the last paragraph, Downs lists some things we might day yes to. Which are the easiest for you? Which might be the hardest?
