How do you feel about asking others what they see in you? How do you feel about asking others to fill in the blanks as Downs’ friend did, “These are some other strengths I see in you. What if your calling looked like __________. Like this. And this—and this—and this—and this.” (100 Days To Brave)
Does the thought of hearing about yourself from other people’s viewpoints make you feel excited or terrified?
Today’s challenge is to think about who those people might be. They may be friends but they could equally be colleagues at work, or a leader at church, or someone you serve beside in a club or society. Think about who would be on your list, and pray about how you might approach that conversation.
Remember, your purpose and your calling is too important to skip steps because they seem awkward or difficult. You are highly prized by the God who loves you (Isaiah 43:4a, 1 John 3:1), seated in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 2:6), and created to do good works (Ephesians 2:10). You can be brave because you are already enough just as you are and nothing can separate you from His love (Romans 8:38).
