Day 98 – You Were Made To Be Brave

“There is not an area of your life that can’t be touched and improved by courage. Courage … [is] for your relationship with God. It’s for your dreams and your calling and your work. It’s for your relationships with fellow humans.” Annie F. Downs, 100 Days To Brave

After 98 days reading, do you believe this? When I’m coaxing one of my children who’s feeling timid, I might tell them I’ll come along too, the “I’ll be right beside you,” kind of encouragement. Often that’s all they need to get moving. We have a Heavenly Father who is right beside us. We have a crowd of witnesses (Hebrews 12:1) to cheer us on in our journey. Even if we fail or fall short of our goal, our Heavenly Father will never give up on us (Hebrews 13:5). Given the example Jesus sets for our life (brave love and service) and given Christ’s power gives us everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3), I think we can conclude we were made for courage; we made to be brave. As we start to wrap up this Book Chat, I think this is how I will remember that brave is what I am.
