God, we thank you that you encourage us to come you with all kinds of prayers and requests. We bring you today all the things that are happening in our neighbourhood, workplaces, schools, friendships and families. We thank you for the smiles we see and the encouraging words we hear. We share with you the sad thoughts and worries we have. We ask for comfort in our suffering and transformation for upsetting circumstances. We give you thanks because we believe you hear our prayers. We express our appreciation that you want us to share our thoughts with you. How kind you are to listen to us and to care about all the circumstances of our lives.

As we go about our day today help us to talk to you about all the things we see. Open our eyes to our environment so that we see what you see. Show us people we can pray for. Help us see the faces of those we walk past. Remind us how much you love us, and help us remember you love everyone we meet. When we are in a meeting, when we stand behind someone in a queue, when we are served in a store or a restaurant, when we walk by a guard or official, prompt us to pray in our heart for them. You loved the world, these people, so much your son came to die for them. May our prayers for these strangers lead them to come to know you.
